From Hum Drum to HOLY COW!!

So, in our opinion (and very personal opinion, we must clarify), dining tables can often be a little on the blah side.
Don't get us wrong.....there are some gorgeous dining sets out there with beautiful wood grain and stunning architectural detail.
But looking at the SAME table, the SAME chairs, the SAME color of wood can become a little hum drum.

Well one of our fabulous customers was facing just such a conundrum!  She had a dining set that, even after 20 years, still was in wonderful condition and still very functional.  But she was, quite frankly, sick and tired of staring at the same set day in and day out.  So what to do???

One of the funnest things about this particular project was that the owner of this dining set was adventurous and definitely not afraid of color, so all of that came into play as we planned and plotted and tried to come up with an amazing transformation that would bring this dining set back to life!.

Here is what the dining set looked like when it was dropped off for it's makeover.

Just your average, run of the mill, blonde wood, tile topped table, desperately in need of a splash of personality, something to match it's wonderful owner, who has a personality that is so fun and bubbly and full of life.  We kicked around a few ideas, looked at a couple of different colors and came up with a combo that was fun and unique and different, but still functional and timeless.

AND HERE IS THE DINING SET NOW!

Isn't it an amazing transformation??  Definitely not your traditional dining table!!  The set has been given a slightly distressed finish (great for years of wear and tear!) with a HUGE pop of fun color!  There are still 2 more chairs coming which will be painted white to pull in the tile and lightly distressed to match the other chairs.

We love the color of this dining set now, and after seeing it in our client's house, we KNOW it is the perfect set for her!

Cute Custom Refinished Table

We had a wonderful customer bring us this charming little end table she had picked up for a steal at a yard sale.
Cute, but in definite need of a makeover!
She requested that it be done in an Ivy Leaf green (one of our most popular colors!) and then given a ebony glaze finish.

And here is the finished project....

It doesn't even look like the same table, does it?  Sometimes just a little pop of color can make the BIGGEST difference!!  We love it and hope that our wonderful customer does too!

If you are interested in having one of your own pieces custom refinished, just zip us an email at aryannsplace@gmail.com to get started.

With those holidays fast approaching and your gift list growing and growing, a custom refinished piece of furniture would be a wonderful gift with a personal touch!

Goin' Green - SOLD

When it comes to going green, we are ALL about recycling, especially when it comes to furniture!

Check out this old chair...
Lots of character, great lines and personality, but oh boy had it seen some better days!
This beauty was destined for the landfill, but we could see the potential and felt that it still had a lot of good years left.  So we took pity on this poor little old chair and went to work.

Check it out now!

It has been painted a fun bright green (key lime is the color) and given a dark walnut stained finish.  The seat cushion has been recovered in a fun fabric with browns, aquas, creams and greens.  This chair has definitely "gone green" in more ways than one....and we absolutely LOVE it!!

Old Door Backdrop

**UPDATE**
Here are a couple of pictures taken by A Couple Designs, the amazing wedding designers who we created this unique backdrop for.  They are absolutely AMAZING and have such a CREATIVE and UNIQUE vision!  Plus, their pictures do this piece MUCH more justice than our previous pictures taken in the dark! :)

In a previous post we mentioned that we have been working with a local wedding designer on one of her upcoming weddings.  The theme is a "Seaside Romance" beach themed wedding, where all of the pieces being used have a very worn, aged look like they were items found washed up on a beach.  In regards to a backdrop, we thought that combining a variety of old wooden doors in their various aged states would create the perfect look.

We just finished the backdrop that will be used in this wedding and we couldn't be more happy with the results!

Here are the doors we used and the project halfway through its completion.

Each one of these doors has its own unique character and charm, contributing the overall nostalgic look of the finished project.

And here is the finished backdrop.

We'll get some better daylight pictures soon, but we were so excited with the outcome that we wanted to share it with all of you!

Versions of this same idea would be a wonderful addition to any home decor, whether creating on a smaller scale and adding as a room divider, as a headboard to a bed, or for a privacy screen on a porch.  The possibilities are endless!

But for now, this will be a beautiful addition to a wonderful
"Seaside Romance"
wedding taking place very soon!
